The Rwandan High Commission in Nigeria was set up in April, 2011, while the Nigeria High Commission in Kigali was opened in 2012 consequent upon the visit of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2011. Prior to that, the Nigeria High Commission in Uganda oversaw Nigeria’s diplomatic relations with Rwanda.
