PROFILE OF AMB. AISHATU ALIYU MUSA

Ambassador Aishatu Aliyu Musa was born in the ancient city of Kano, Nigeria. She was educated at the prestigious Bayero University Kano where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Combined Honors) in French and Islamic Studies in 1985. 

Thereafter, Ambassador Aishatu Aliyu Musa upon completion of her National Youth Service Corps in 1985 worked with the Ministry of Education Kano where she was deployed to teach at the Kawaji Boys Secondary School, Kano. Afterwards, she worked with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) from 1989 – 1993.

Ambassador Aishatu Aliyu Musa joined the Nigeria Foreign Service in 1993 and has served in various departments within the Ministry and Nigerian Missions abroad. Her first foreign posting was to the Embassy of Nigeria Bonn and later Berlin, Germany. In the course of her career, she worked in Nigerian Missions in Harare, London and Caracas. While in Caracas, Ambassador Aishatu Aliyu Musa served as Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Embassy of Nigeria, Caracas, Venezuela from 2016 – 2017. 

At a point in her career, she was Protocol Officer to Hajia Turai Yar’Adua the then First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Ambassador Aishatu Aliyu Musa was appointed Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America in 2019.

While serving in Atlanta, Georgia, Ambassador Aishatu Aliyu Musa was notified of her Ambassadorial nomination and upon confirmation, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR deployed her as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Rwanda. 

Her Excellency’s hobbies are reading and meeting people.
